The Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame is gearing up for its 2026 induction ceremony as the award-winning attraction continues celebrating the city’s lasting impact on Black music history.
Founded by Hamilton County Commissioner Alicia Reece, the free outdoor attraction has welcomed more than 300,000 visitors to Cincinnati’s riverfront, according to organizers.
The immersive experience highlights the region’s influence across genres, including funk, jazz, gospel, hip-hop, R&B, rock, and pop. Visitors can explore interactive exhibits, augmented reality experiences, and QR-code activations that allow guests to learn more about legendary artists connected to Cincinnati’s music legacy.
The 2026 induction class includes The Isley Brothers, Bootsy Collins, Otis Williams, Midnight Star, The Deele featuring L.A. Reid and Babyface, Nancy Wilson, The Ohio Players, The O'Jays, Randy Crawford, Shirley Murdock, and Roger & Zapp. Organizers also announced that Heatwave and WCIN — recognized as the first Black radio station in Ohio east of the Mississippi River — will be honored during this year’s celebration.
Midnight Star will also celebrate its 50th anniversary during the event.
Legacy Awards are set to be presented to Regina Belle and New Edition, while organizers say the celebration will feature special performances, including one from Shirley Murdock. Previous inductees include James Brown, Donald Lawrence, Dottie Peoples, Penny Ford, DJ Hi-Tek, Wilbert Longmire, Philippe Wynne, Louis Shropshire, and Dr. Charles Fold, among others.
The kickoff event for the 2026 induction ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, at the Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati. The official induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 25.
The Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame is located at 190 W. Mehring Way in Cincinnati and is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. with free admission.
