Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is reportedly being added to the Pro Bowl Games as a replacement for New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN on Monday (January 26).

Sanders, 23, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, his collegiate coach at Jackson State University and the University of Colorado, started in the Browns' final seven games of the 2025 season and went 3-4 with 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions on 120 of 212 passing, while also recording 169 yards and one touchdown on 21 rushing attempts. The Texas native was selected by Cleveland at No. 144 overall in the fifth-round of the 2025 NFL Draft, having one of the biggest falls in draft history after many projected him as a potential first-round prospect.

Maye, 23, a finalist for the 2025 Associated Press NFL MVP award, was ruled out of the Pro Bowl Games after the Patriots clinched a Super Bowl LX berth with a win against the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday (January 25). The former UNC standout led New England to a 14-3 record during his second NFL season, throwing for 4,394 yards, 31 touchdowns and eight interceptions on 354 of 492 passing.

The Patriots will make their first Super Bowl appearance in seven years, having previously won six times, tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most by a franchise in NFL history.
