The first father-son duo to play together in the MLB watched LeBron James and Bronny James make history on the NBA court.

On Tuesday (October 22), Ken Griffey Jr. and Ken Griffey Sr. attended the Los Angeles Lakers season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

During the game, LeBron and Bronny took the court together in the second quarter, officially making them the first father and son to play in a regular season NBA game together and on the same team.

The historic feat comes roughly 34 years after the Griffeys shared the baseball field with the Seattle Mariners in 1990, which made them the first father and son to play on the same team.

The historic duos met on the court ahead of Tuesday's regular-season tip-off.

Earlier this week, Griffey Jr. announced that he and his father would attend the historic game.

“I’m actually going to go to the game, I’m going to take my dad,” Griffey Jr. said on the "Road to Cooperstown" podcast for MLB Network Radio. “First father and son to play baseball, now the first father and son to play basketball, so it’s a big deal for my dad and I to be there. We made history, now we get to watch history, so that’s what’s going to be cool about it.”

During their time together on the Mariners, Griffey Jr. and Sr. hit back-to-back home runs on September 14, 1990. The Griffeys cheered LeBron and Bronny on as the Lakers took a double-digit lead against the Timberwolves before the end of the first half of Tuesday's game.
