The Annual Ali Festival is set to take place in Muhammad Ali's hometown of Louisville, Kentucky from Friday, June 3 through Thursday, June 9, 2022

The Festival is being organized to mark the passing of the boxing legend and civil rights leader and to "celebrate his worldwide impact and love for Louisville," the event's website states. Ali passed away on June 3, 2016, at the age of 74.

"The community celebration will include an array of events including fitness, art, history, community service, family activities, and discounts," event organizers shared on the website.

The Ali Festival will kick off on June 3 with the long-held Daughters of Greatness Breakfast which honors prominent women in the movement for social justice, change, and activism within Louisville and beyond. Throughout the week, Festival attendees can participate in an open gym session, a 90-minute trolley tour of Louisville that highlights significant monuments in Ali's life, and a family fun day at the Ali Center. There will also be a Red Cross Blood Drive, Community Night with the Louisville Bats baseball team, and more.

Volunteers can participate in the Ali Institute Day of Service on Tuesday, June 7 where groceries will be distributed along with a food drive at the Presley Post.

The Festival will end on Thursday, June 9, with the Third Annual Greatest Giveback where volunteers will help assemble 800 diaper bundles, 800 laundry kits, and 800 snack kits to be distributed to 80 local nonprofit organizations.
