Demi Lovato Honors Late Naya Rivera With Nostalgic 'Glee' Post

Demi Lovato honored the memory of her late Glee costar, Naya Rivera.

The “I Love Me” singer shared a touching post paying tribute to Rivera, whom Lovato starred opposite on the fifth season of the Fox series as Dani and Santana.

“Miss you [Naya Rivera],” the musician captioned an Instagram Story of her walking through an open field to the sounds of The Beatles’ “Here Comes The Sun,” referencing a romantic scene in which ended with a kiss between Lovato and Rivera. On the show, Dani and Santana eventually fall in love with each other.

Lovato’s sweet remembrance post comes months after Rivera tragically passed away this summer.

After a days-long manhunt, Rivera’s body was discovered out on Lake Piru near Los Angeles, where the star had gone missing during a boating trip with her son, Josey, on July 13.

The Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the actress-singer died by accidental drowning. It was reported that Rivera used the last of her strength to save her son before going underwater.

Lovato was among the many Glee alums to pay tribute to Rivera following the tragic news.

"RIP Naya Rivera. I’ll forever cherish the opportunity to play your girlfriend on Glee," the “Don’t Forget” songbird captioned a slideshow of images of the pair. "The character you played was groundbreaking for tons of closeted queer girls (like me at the time) and open queer girls, and your ambition and accomplishments were inspiring to Latina women all over the world."
